    I would personally …
I would personally just learn to play right handed due to the fact that if you play in an orchestra you will be playing the opposite direction of everyone else. You can use a guide like the one I used to make the transition easier, as I too went through the same predicament years ago. Check out MasterOfInstruments . com — without the spaces

    I’m the same …
I’m the same position – I’m left handed too. I’ve been advised to learn it right handed. If you ever want to play in an orchestra and you learn it left-handed then you may have difficulty in being allowed to play because you’ll be facing the opposite direction to all the other violinists!

    i’ve been wanting …
i’ve been wanting to play the violin for a really long time. I plan on buying a violin in the next week or two, but I’ve heard you shouldn’t buy a left-handed violin, and that they weren’t that great (Seeing as how I am left handed)?
I was just curious if i should go ahead and buy a left-handed violin or just get one for the right hand?

    Oh of course. It’s …
Oh of course. It’s really difficult to find a violin for left handed people anyway. So, if you’re right handed then you will use your right hand for the bow and your left to hold the violin. :-)

    I have a question. …
I have a question. My right hand is completely numb and therefore useless in the sense of playing and instrument. Can I use that as my bow hand and pick (probably wrong term) the fingerboard with my left hand?
