Hahaha! One of my favorite playstation game “Legend of Mana”. This song is from the town Domina by Yoko Shimomura and I don’t own this song. I don’t have other instruments so I just used what I have. I made a cover for it. It is hard not to make mistakes and I am a beginner when it comes to violin. Please be kind hahaha… Enjoy!

My T-shirt says “HELLO CEBU” but I am not from Cebu hahaha… :D

What would be a good practice at this Suzuki Violin Method Piece?

I’m currently in Book 3, and I’m having trouble producing a good sound at the piece Gavotte by J. Becker, especially the series of sixteenth notes before the key signature changes to G Major. The notes are G, A, C, Bb, A, G, if I remember correctly. Any tips on how to beautify sound?

For that part, you need to practice legato first, and practice the whole bow playing at an even and steady speed. Then add in creascendo. Always practice them slowly first, then slowly increase the speed to the required tempo. Here is a link for you to see, it could be done better, but it’s at an acceptable level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbsuyfsOsY0

Would I be able to teach beginner violin?

I’m 17 years old, nearly 18. I have been playing the violin for over 10 years and did my grade 7 in november (and passed! :D )

The idea of teaching violin to beginners has interested me for quite some time now… I’m looking to be a teacher, so I already have some experience of tutoring and have carried out work experience in primary schools.

Would it be a good idea for me to teach beginner violin?

Do you know how to adapt technique for students with varying body types and physical characteristics? Do you have a solid idea of the sequence of skills a beginner needs to learn? Do you have a solid grasp of technique to the point where you not only know what to do, you know why it’s done that way? Do you know how to evaluate when a student is ready to move on to the next level or the next technique? If you feel comfortable with all that, then go ahead. Make sure you tell the parents of any prospective students that while you’ve been playing for ten years you have limited teaching experience. Be up front about your experience and don’t pretend to know things you don’t actually know.
